“Why exploitation?”
Any true fan of the genre has heard this. Why do so many of us feel the need to explain or qualify our love of the genre by apologizing or calling the films “guilty pleasures?” Let’s face it, the exploitation film was never made for polite society. By its very definition, it will feature heaps of sex and violence, all presented in a manner you aren’t used to seeing at the multiplex.
For this episode of Astro Radio Z, host Derrick Carey gathered a group of exploitation movie fanatics to explore what makes an exploitation film and what keeps drawing us to them. Guests include: Brian Kirst, Kate Owens, Seth Poulin, Andrew Shearer and myself. Each of us brought along a film to represent our tastes in exploitation.
Like the films themselves, the discussion is for the 18 and up crowd. If that’s you and you want to know what this is all about, then click on Linnea Quigley and enjoy this latest episode of Astro Radio Z!
