Bruce Willis Is As Bored of Bruce Willis As We Are

Bruce Willis has had a rough time. He got booted from EXPENDABLES 3 after demanding a major pay increase. Sorry, if Sly isn’t going to pay Carl Weathers, he sure isn’t going to pay you.

But it turns out that Willis also isn’t very fond of the whole action game at all anymore. “Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job,” he tells the Mirror (which admittedly is not the most reliable of sources). “When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now.

“I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium sized, even science fiction.”

So, he doesn’t really dig action films, but he does it for the money. Much like I suggested in an episode of Moviocrity.  At least he’s honest.

And if we’re being honest, surely we can point out that at this point, Willis doesn’t have to do any more bad movies, be they action, comedy or whatever. He must have accumulated more than enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life. There are many actors who, once they’ve reached their 40s or 50s, phase out of the slam-bang actioners or the screwball comedies and into something they feel is more satisfying. So, what about it, Bruce? If you’re really that tired of making the films, you don’t have to.
